Crystal Reports is a full featured report writing tool. It will report from a vast number of objects including databases like Access and SQL Server. Crystal is the preferred reporting software for the Matrix LIMS product.
The tips page contains some formulas that I have found useful. Version 8 of Crystal allows you to create reports from the file system of your PC / network. Reports from Outlook can be useful too - address labels for instance.
